goodbye mr hillerman

this morning i woke up to the sad news tony hillerman died... i really like this author, he took me places i loved to visit. i so enjoyed reading his navajo folklore, learning the ancient ways. i am very drawn to the four corner areas, if one was to say they were reincarnated based on connections of the present, i must have been an american indian some time in my past. i love warm red rocks, sage greens and crystal clear blue skys, it stirs deep embers in me. solitude sends me, wide open spaces call me and the high mesa's thrill me. in honor of tony hillerman i made a southwest meal and tip a farewell toast to the heavens, may his spirit soar~

That looks like an awesome spread! I especially like the two "sided" soup.

Thanks for visiting my blog :) The final picture of the brownies doesn't exist b/c I was rushing out of the door too fast, but you can use your imagination.

The avocado's look amazing! So does the soup and the flan. Great tribute! We're having soup weather here on LI, I could use a bowl of your Southwest :)
